Erie Lackawanna Trail Section 9: Crown Point

The Erie-Lackawanna is a long paved rail trail stretching from Hammond to Crown Point. Section 9 runs from 93rd Ave. to the current trailhead off Summit Street.

Parking

Parking can be found at the large public lot off Summit Street, or at the roundabout at 93rd.

This trail section has restrooms in the public parking lot off Summit Street, though they might not be open during the winter.

Trail Vibe

This section of the Erie-Lackawanna Trail is very private and wooded, even though it is in a residential area. It is paved and mostly flat, bordered by a golf course and lots of fencing and trees. There is the obligatory NWI power station, of course, but also a little creek and a cute memorial park. A lovely farm field grows along one stretch, and we have frequently seen deer on this trail section.
