Erie-Lackawanna Trail Section 8: Merrillville

The Erie-Lackawanna is a long paved rail trail stretching from Hammond to Crown Point. Section 8 runs from the Pine Island Dr. trail brand off entrance to the roundabout at 93rd.

Parking

Parking can be found at the roundabout on 93rd Ave. There is also a couple of gravel parking spaces at the trail intersection on 91st, as well as a small lot on 87th.

There are no restrooms along this section of trail.

Trail Vibe

This section of the Erie-Lackawanna Trail is mostly wooded, with grass fields lining the trail as well as a long run of power lines. There is the obligatory NWI pipeline, of course.
